St Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl

Sat 17 March

This year we’re having a pub crawl after our intra-club scratchie on Saturday 17 March. Should be a good way to get the fluids back in after a good workout. Furthermore, it’s the President’s birthday! Should we call it St Peter’s Day?

Season Launch

Fri 30 March

We’re getting a few old heads down to the Claremont Hotel (upstairs) for a beer, a few nibbles and a chat about the upcoming season. We’ll hear from the now longest-serving Uni President ever Hon Peter Toll, A-Grade Coach Luke Dwyer and the Colts Coach Sammy Wallace.

Kick-off will be straight after work at 5.30pm.

Wed 4 April

This is an annual season-opening event at the Uni Footy Club. Involves some pizza, a few beers with the boys, an address from former Premiership winning player, coach and President Neil Donaldson, as well as a bit of miscellaneous entertainment, too.

Buses to the Captain Stirling at the end of the show.

First Round Show

Sat 14 April

Celebrate the start of the new footy season with another ball-tearer of a show at the AJ Pavilion. Cheap drinks, smashing tunes from DJ Dynamite (Sammy Wallace), free parking and bus to somewhere (not sure where yet) to party on. The theme this year is Back to Business.

18+ event. Must have ID.

Mid Year Show

Sat 23 June

This year we’re having the Mid-Year Show at the Claremont Hotel (upstairs). Let your hair down one last time before you get into those exams (study break starts at the beginning of June). Negotiations are underway to get DJ Dynamite there. He might be doing festivals in Europe by then.

18+. Must have ID.

Old Boys’ Game and 100 Club Marquee

The Old Boys are once again lining up a game against themselves and a few frothies afterwards in the marquee. Contact Charles Gow (Charles.Gow@bridges.com.au) if you’re interested in having a run around or even just helping out.

Sun 5 Aug

Buy a raffle ticket in the lead-up and you could win you $1,000! Also features the Colty Dash for Ca$h. Last year’s winner Eoghan (pronounced ‘Owen’ out of interest) won $300 for him and his investors to share. Big cash! Cash everywhere! Free drinks for the first hour and a half. Free parking. Bus to Claremont. Perfect!

Old Boys’ Day

Sat 11 August

The marquee will be up and the bouncy castle as bouncy as ever for the Old Boys’ Day game against Collegians at McGillivray. Last year the boys won the John Prior cup on both games and this year we’ll be looking to do the same in front of a big home crowd. Food and drinks aplenty in the Members tent. Entry is a 100 Club Membership ($100).

Presentation Dinner

Fri 28 September

Look back on the season that was at the 2012 Uni Footy Club Awards Night. Involves a nice dinner, all-you-can-drink and a few long-winded stories. Last year was a cracking night as everybody gloated over the A and A-Res Premiership wins. We are hoping/expecting more of the same this year.

Old Boys’ Lunch

Fri 19 October

This event has been a massive success for some time and we are looking forward to a bunch of old legends coming along once again. Involves a hearty lunch, lots of beers, a yet-to-be-announced Guest Speaker and a bus to somewhere afterwards. A great opportunity to rub shoulders with some of Uni’s finest. More details to come.

18+, not that we have too many problems with that at the Old Boys’ shows.
